We have all been impacted by the COVID Pandemic, BUT children and families who are involved in the Child Welfare System across the country are at even greater risk of experiencing health, economic and physical implications. FFT Partners is honored to be partners with the NYC Administration for Children’s Services and five New York City Provider agencies to implement Functional Family Therapy-Therapeutic Case Management to support the children and families most at risk in NYC.
These organizations work tirelessly to hire staff, orient them to child welfare, and implement health and safety precautions, all while facing an unprecedented health crisis. COVID’s reach calls for many adjustments including holding family sessions, interviews, staff meetings and training virtually. Our consultants at FFT Partners, are adept at utilizing video conferencing technology for a portion of our clinical consultation. However, in order to provide a continuum in our training protocols, we transformed how we delivered training and supervised live sessions by maximizing our use of effective technology.
FFT Partners works with the leadership and clinical teams from Catholic Guardian Services, Good Shepherd Services, The New York Foundling, Sauti Yetu Center for African Women and Families, and The Arab-American Family Support Center. Staff from all five of these organizations have completed their initial clinical training and will receive over 130 hours of advanced clinical training in Functional Family Therapy throughout the next twelve months. These organizations, with support from NYC ACS and FFT Partners, will serve over 2,000 families across all five boroughs of NYC.
Check back in throughout this journey as we share updates on the impact being had by Catholic Guardian Services, Good Shepherd Services NYC, The NY Foundling, Sauti Yetu Center for African Women and The Arab-American Family Support Center.
